my dvd cd rom drives not showing up

Where is my DVD/CD ROM? Drives not showing up.

(This is a repost, originally posted as a reply to another post)
I just installed Windows Vista Beta 2 today and after the install the DVD/CDRW Rom does not appear (the same DVD Drive I used to install Vista). I have searched the forums and found nothing that helps.
* I do not see a CD ROM device in device manager (so I cannot unistall the driver and hope that plug-and-play will reinstall it)
* I have tried KB Q320553 (remove UpperFilters, LowerFilters)
* I do see the drive in BIOS and if I put the Vista CD ROM in the drive during reboot it ask me to press any key to boot from the CD/DVD. (So I know it's working) Still nothing. Are there any other fixes to this issue?
Here's more info... I have a Gateway 610S Media Center. The entire computer is integrated so I cannot swap wires as some in the forum have done. I don't recall the DVD/CD Rom ever working. The first time I went to use the device after Vista installation, the device was gone.
The drive is a LiteOn SlimType Combo LSC-24082K
I look throught the Event Viewer and this is the only entry that pops out...
1) The following boot-start or system-start driver(s) failed to load: pxhelp20
(pxhelp20 is related to my DVD Driver I think)
Well that's about everything I can think of. Any help is appreciated.
